Part 1. Studio portrait photography.
Lesson 1. Introduction to studio portrait photography from idea to realization. Composition in portrait photography.
Basics of lighting modeling in the studio.
Practice: single-source, soft lighting for artistic portraits.
Lesson 2: Theory and practice: working through an idea for a portrait, photography with two light sources. Features of work with the model, basics of pose.
Lesson 3: Theory and practice: working out the idea of a portrait, taking pictures with three light sources. High key portraits. Features of work with the model, basics of posing.
Lesson 4: Theory and practice: hard lighting, working out the idea of the portrait, taking pictures. Portraits in a low key. Features of work with the model, basics of posing.
Lesson 5 Theory and practice: creating portraits in a low key with soft lighting.
Lesson 6. Practice of using strip boxes to create artistic images.
Lesson 7. Practice: using colored lighting to create artistic images.
Lesson 8. Independent work on the creation of an artistic portrait (students independently take the studio and do the credit work).
Lesson 9. Practice: freeze-framing in portrait photography. Summing up the first part of the course.
Part 2. Portrait photography in the open air (outdoors and indoors).
(Depending on weather conditions, the sequence of lessons may change).
Lesson 1: Basic theory: basics of taking pictures outside the studio, how to set up your camera.
Lenses and filters for artistic photography.
Using an external flash as an auxiliary light source, reflectors and diffusers.
Practice: taking pictures, from the idea to the embodiment of the author’s idea.
Lesson 2: Practice. Classes for photographing portraits in an urban environment.
Lesson 3: Practice taking portrait photos indoors.
Lesson 4: Practice. Portrait photography in a park area.
Lesson 5. Practice. Taking genre portraits indoors.
Lesson 6. Practice. Genre portrait photography at a trip.
Lesson 7 Practice. Shooting group portraits.
Lesson 8. Practice. Independent field lesson in portrait photography on the basis of working out your own idea of an artistic portrait image.
Lesson 9. Summing up the course. Presentation of work on the creation of an artistic portrait. Presentation of certificates.
Part 3. Photographic processing in Adobe Photoshop.
The course consists of 22 parts with lessons and assignments.
Training is conducted online on a free schedule, with inspection of works and consultations from the teacher.
